We love growing herbs for cooking and healing. One of our favorite ways to use our herbs is to make a pot of delicious herbal tea. There are so many ways to do this. The flavors and benefits are as bountiful as our garden!
Herbal tea, or Tisane, is a catch-all term for beverages made from the infusion of herbs, spices, or other plant materials. Tisanes are often consumed for their medicinal benefits or for their stimulant, relaxant, sedative, or antioxidant properties. But more often people enjoy them just because they are a tasty, enjoyable treat.
There are so many varieties it’s impossible to list them all here. An herbal tea may be one herb steeped and served in a beautiful teacup. Or it might be a blend of herbs served with fresh, local honey and cream or half-and-half. That’s how we like our tea.
